Sherice A. Cooley, age 52, of Alexandria and formerly of Glenwood, died Saturday, May 28, 2022, at St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN. A memorial service celebrating her life will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 24th, at Hope Community Church in Glenwood (located in Central Square), with Pastor Kelly Mahoney officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in Lake Ann Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home of Glenwood.
Sherice Antwronette Cooley was born December 11, 1969 in Chicago, Illinois. She was the oldest of three children born to Mary Jean (Jackson) and Alvin B. Mack. She grew up in Chicago where she attended school. As a teenager she attended Theodore Roosevelt High School before graduating from Steinmetz College Preparatory High School.
On October 12, 2002 Sherice was united in marriage to Matthew G. K. Cooley at Palms Baptist Church in San Bernardino, California. The couple made their home in Matthew’s hometown of Glenwood, Minnesota. Sherice worked in various occupations, but was mainly a mother and homemaker. She was a member of the Eastern Star and attended Hope Community Church in Glenwood. Sherice enjoyed coloring, singing, listening to music, journaling and writing poetry. She was a beautiful soul and will be missed by many. Sherice ran a difficult race and throughout her life she always conveyed hope and expressed her abiding faith in God to those who needed to hear that message.
Sherice died May 28, 2022 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud from injuries caused by a fall. She will be remembered for her bright personality and love for her family and friends.
Sherice is survived by her mother, Mary Mack of Chicago, IL; husband, Matthew Cooley of Glenwood; four daughters, Candice Armstead, Paris Taylor, Eva Cooley and Elsa Cooley; seven grandchildren, Sariyah, Aden, Tina, London, Ava, Surenity and Isaiah; two sisters, Bertha Davis and Daphne Dupreleta; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alvin Mack.
