Philip Fiskness Obituary

Philip Alvin Fiskness, the son of Peter and Anna (Erickson) Fiskness was born December 6, 1936 in Bemidji, Minnesota. He was the second of four children born to the couple and was raised on a farm near Osakis. Philip attended Elim Lutheran Church and school in Osakis. He graduated from Osakis High School in 1956.

Philip married Gail Robinson on February 7, 1958. The couple made their home in Osakis and were blessed with three children, Christine, Jillene and Mitchell. The couple later divorced.

On June 23, 1980, Philip was united in marriage to Mary Scott in Butler, Ohio. Philip and Mary made their home in Osakis and Philip worked as an over the road truck driver. He owned and operated his truck and for the last 15 years of his career he hauled boats for Genmar in Little Falls. Philip retired in 2002. In 2003, Philip and Mary moved to Glenwood.

Philip will be remembered for his love of restoring tractors, especially Allis Chambers. When Philip needed help with his daily care he moved into the Glenwood Retirement Village. He died there, Sunday, December 25, 2022.

Philip is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary of Glenwood; children, Jillene (John) Hansel of Warren, OH and Mitchell (Deb Wenninger) Fiskness of Sauk Centre; son-in-law, Edward Smith; 11 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Tess Partin of Mansfield, OH, sister, Gladys Stoner in Newport Ritchie, FL; twin-brothers, Lester (Rebecca) and Loren (Kathy) both of Osakis, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Philip was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Christine Smith in July 2022, mother of his children, Gail Fiskness and brother-in-law, Herbert Stoner.

Services for Philip will be held in the spring/summer 2023.
