Gary Lynn Morris, the second son of Beatrice (Reed) and Oral “Ted” Morris, was born January 22, 1952 in St. Peter, Minnesota. He grew up in St. Peter where he attended high school and graduated from St. Peter High School in 1970. After high school, Gary furthered his education at Mankato State in Mankato, Minnesota. He was employed with the Minnesota Highway Department in Mankato then for Westpac Beverages as an over the road semi-truck driver for over 20 years. In 2000, he joined Tony’s Transfer in Wadena, Minnesota and later became an owner/operator driver for them. He retired in 2017.

Gary enjoyed riding motorcycle which started at 15 years old and continued throughout his adult life. He was an avid golf enthusiast and played almost daily after retirement. He enjoyed boating, fishing and entertaining his friends at his lake home on Star Lake in Dent, Minnesota. Gary also enjoyed TV, movies and classic cars. He was an active, successful financial investor and stock trader. Gary will be remembered for being a good friend and welcoming host to visitors. He was an excellent, safe and careful over the road truck driver for 44 years, transporting beverages and food from Minnesota to the Pacific West Coast.

Gary sold his lake home on Star Lake and moved to Glenwood in 2019. He died at home at Glenwood Estates on November 22, 2022 after a steady decline in his health over a several year period. Moments Hospice, his excellent care at Glenwood Estates, along with his closest friends helped him make his final journey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Beatrice and Oral Morris.

In memory of Gary by Bridget Ideker, “Life is hard, but you lived it good. The road is hard, but you drove it good. The last days were hard, but you were treated good. Losing you is hard, but we had it good.”
