Forrest L. Christianson

Forrest LuVern Christianson, age 89 of Belgrade died peacefully on Monday morning January 9, 2023 at the Belgrade Nursing Home. He would have been 90 on January 14th. Forrest, the son of Edwin and Alma (Solbrekken) Christianson, was born on the family farm outside of Brooten on January 14, 1933. Apart from a time spent on the oilfields in the southwest, he worked on the farm all his life. On August 2, 1975, Forrest was united in marriage to Judy Wiese. The couple made their home on the farm where they enjoyed farming and their animals, especially their draft horses. After 25 years on the farm, they retired to 5 acres across from Scandinavian Lake and kept three of the horses. Later, the couple lived in Belgrade where their poodle Teddy was a cherished companion. Forrest and Judy enjoyed going to jam sessions in Sunburg, playing cards, dancing and visiting with friends, neighbors and family. Forrest also enjoyed hunting deer and pheasant, and fishing When Forrest needed help with his daily care he became a resident of the Belgrade Nursing Home.

Forrest is survived by wife Judith Christianson; stepchildren, Deborah (Tom Klein) Wiese and Gerald Wiese, step-grandchildren Taylon (Kayla) Wiese and Anneka Waldack; sister-in-law, Pearl Christianson and nieces, nephews and cousins that he enjoyed very much.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Alma Christianson; twin sister, Fern Doble and her husband Lee, and brother Omer.

Private interment will be at Chippewa Falls Lutheran Church in Terrace, MN at a later date.
