Donna L. Reuss, age 94, of Glenwood, MN died Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Glenwood Retirement Village. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 11th at Calvary Lutheran Church in Glenwood, with Pastor Mark Kahrs officiating. Visitation will be at the church, one hour prior to the service. Inurnment in Glenwood Cemetery will be at a later date. Arrangements are with Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home of Glenwood.
Donna Louise Strom, the daughter of Del C. and Blanche Viola (Halvorson) Strom was born May 25, 1928 in Hoffman, Minnesota. She grew up in Hoffman and graduated from high school in 1946.
On January 7, 1948 Donna was united in marriage to Vernon Reuss at Zion Lutheran Church in Hoffman. This marriage was blessed with two children, LuAnn and Dell. The couple made their home on a farm in rural Hoffman, Grant County where they farmed crops and livestock for the next 19 years. In 1966, they moved to Glenwood. Donna was employed building Kennedy houseboats until the company moved out of state at which time Donna was employed by GMC as a machine operator for the next ten years. Donna then began working the next twenty years at Glenwood Retirement Village in housekeeping and assisted with activities until she retired. She was active in the Glenwood American Legion Auxiliary, delivered meals on wheels and volunteered at the food shelf until she had an aneurism in 2008. Donna enjoyed fishing with her grandson, Jesse, watching baseball and football, singing with the local senior citizen choir group, Young at Heart, trips to the casino with family, walking and helping others. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She died January 21, 2023 at the Glenwood Retirement Village.
Donna is survived by her children, LuAnn (Steffen) Stadsvold of Starbuck and Dell Reuss of Starbuck; grandchildren, Jesse (Jen) Arredondo, Bobbi (Adam) Love, Ashley Reuss, Nichole Reuss and Bailee Reuss; great-grandchildren, Luke and Mario Arredondo, Madeleine and Annie Love, Jacob Reuss, and Payton and Dakota Landers; sisters, Harriet Hubred and Betty Batey; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 2001, sisters, Jeanne Gunderson and Colleen Westberg and niece, Chris Hubred.
