Delores Kvitek Obituary

Delores A. Kvitek, age 74 of Glenwood, died Monday, October 25, 2021 at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 1, 2021 at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in rural Lowry. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood. 

Delores Amanda Logan was born on February 7, 1947 to Ernest and Elsie (Burns) Logan in Pomme de Terre Township, Grant County, Minnesota. She grew up in various areas, including Elbow Lake and Lowry. She was one of 13 children born to the couple.

Delores was united in marriage to Daniel Kvitek. They had four children, Kimberly, Tammy, David and Angel. The two later divorced.

Over the years Delores worked at various places in the Glenwood area including Hanson’s Hut, J&B Cafe, Franklin Street Diner and Tom’s Food Pride in Glenwood, Nodland’s Cafe and DyCast Specialties in Starbuck, Quinco Press in Lowry, and Walmart in Alexandria. Her hobbies included bingo, diamond painting, crossword puzzles, reading, trips to the casino, drinking pots of coffee, playing cards and visiting with anyone and everyone who had a story to share and would listen to hers.

In later years, Delores resided at Glenhaven Manor and most recently Glenwood Estates. She passed away on October 25, 2021, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar with her daughters by her side.

Delores is survived by her daughters, Kim (Marty) Parker of Starbuck and Angel Kvitek (Monte Large) of Glenwood; two grandsons, Jesse (Tiffany Simonson) Parker of Starbuck and Kiel Parker of Minneapolis; great-grandchildren Chance Parker and Alexys Bolz of Starbuck; six brothers, Bob (Jean) Logan of WI, Charles Logan of Morris, John Logan of Clarkfield, Dale (Vicky) Logan of Starbuck, Dean (Ann) Logan of Alexandria, and Lavern Logan of Glenwood; two sisters, Marie Logan of Minneapolis and Betty (Doug) Dandurand of Granite Falls; one sister-in-law, Ginny Logan of Fergus Falls; and a brother-in-law, Roger Torgerson of Brooten; along with many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Tammy; a stillborn son, David; two brothers, Roger and Jim Logan; two sisters, Carol Torgerson and Darlene Lillis; a brother-in-law, John Lillis; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Logan.
