Inurnment will be following the service at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in rural Villard. Arrangements are with Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home of Glenwood.

Dale Marvin Orlowski, son of Edward and Olga (Weyrauch) Orlowski, was born October 12, 1940, in St. Cloud, Mn.  He grew up in nearby Sauk Rapids being baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith.  Dale attended Sauk Rapids public schools where in was involved in band and choir.  Dale graduated from Sauk Rapids High School in 1958.  He began working out of high school at the Sauk Rapids Hardware Store and also became a member of the Sauk Rapids Fire Department.

A chance encounter at the A&W in St. Cloud in 1960 brought him together with the love of his life, Barbara Super, where she worked as a car hop.  Dale and Barb were united in marriage on November 4, 1961 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sauk Rapids.  They made their first home in Sauk Rapids until 1963.  Dale and Barb picked up and followed his brother and sister-in-law Del and Mick to beautiful Glenwood where they raised their children, Neil, Diane and Dave.  Dale began working for Metz Baking Company as a delivery driver in 1963.  He started working out of Glenwood but the company later moved to Alexandria.  Dale worked hard for just under 39 years until his retirement in 2002.  Dale had a spotless driving record his whole career with many miles logged.  The best parts of the job were his customers and friends he made along the way.  Dale enjoyed conversation with everyone.

With the move to Glenwood, Dale and his family became members of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Villard.  Dale was head usher and enjoyed helping with altar guild for many years.  Many lifelong friends were made through interactions with his church family and he cherished them deeply.  Dale had a strong faith in God and trusted his path following his death.

Dale enjoyed being outdoors most of the time unless there was a Gopher, Twins, Timberwolves or Vikings game on TV. Dale loved to hunt and fish, especially with family, with the Glenwood area providing endless opportunities.  Dale and Barb enjoyed and cherished several annual trips to White Iron Beach Resort in Ely, taking in new sites on vacations, trips to the casino, attending his children’s and grandchildren’s games and events and most importantly spending time with family and friends.

Dale will be remembered as a caring, gentle, friendly, loving, funny, happy, hard-working person who always helped pick people up and show them support with a smile.  Dale and his family are very grateful for the wonderful care and attention he received in the last few months as his health declined.  Special thanks to Glacial Ridge Health Systems, Parkview Court and Glenwood Retirement Village.  All of you are a reflection small town love and care and as Dale said, “there are a lot of good people doing good things”.

Dale is survived by his loving wife Barb of Glenwood, their three children, Neil (Julie) Orlowski of Bloomington, Diane (Andy) Olson of Glenwood, and Dave (Lorie) Orlowski of Glenwood; 6 grandchildren, Jessica (Pete) Anderson, Travis (Brianna) Olson, Nick (Sam) Molitor, Alex Orlowski, Megan Orlowski, Hannah Orlowski and two great-grandchildren Kaelyn Rae and Hailey Anderson; sister Linda Reyes and sister in laws, Carol McDowell, Janet Perri and Cheri Miceli and many cherished nieces and nephews.
