Beatrice JoAnn Sagedahl, the daughter of Anthony and Clara (Plumhoff) Damhof, was born on November 13, 1939 in Willmar, MN. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Bea grew up in Belgrade and graduated from Belgrade High, Class of 1957. Following graduation, she attended Stout College in Wisconsin. She also lived in San Diego for a short time before moving back to work in Minneapolis, MN. Besides owning Bea’s Gift Shoppe in Brooten from 1970 to 1976, she was a secretary most of her adult life. She was the superintendent’s secretary at both the Belgrade and Brooten schools, then worked as the secretary at the Bonanza Valley State Bank for 34 years and finally, she was the church secretary at Trinity for the past 4 years.

She was united in marriage to Roger Wayne Sagedahl on August 22, 1964 at Zion Lutheran Church in Belgrade and they made their home in Brooten. She attended Trinity Lutheran Church where she belonged to the Hope Circle and was involved in various parts of the church, serving in many positions including President and Secretary for the WELCA, was in the church choir and assisted the quilters. She was a BBE school board member for a number of years and also helped out with Bonanza Valley Days.

Her hobbies included sewing, cooking, baking, shopping, decorating her home, following the MN sports teams and doing the puzzles in the newspaper each day. Bea loved to stay up to date on the latest trends and would often bring new products for us to try. She was in tune to her grandchildren and what they enjoyed, including food favorites specific to each grandchild and their school activities. She liked to text them because she knew they would respond quickly on their phones. She will be remembered for her love and kindness, patience, and her cooking and baking expertise. Bea’s famous BBQs and Potato Salad were a family favorite. She passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 19, 2020 at the age of 80.

Bea is survived by her husband Roger of Brooten, daughters Emily (Greg) Uhde of Glenwood, Sarah (Nathan) Hagen of Brooten, and son Greg (Beth) Sagedahl of Twin Valley, grandchildren Jaden and Tate Sagedahl, Damon, Avarie and McKenna Uhde, Easton and Adley Hagen.
