Nathaniel Seabrook, age 83 of rural Villard, died Monday, July 1, 2019 at home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 11th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glenwood with Father Joe Vandeberg officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with Parish Prayers and a Knights of Columbus led rosary at 7 p.m. at the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Villard. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood. 

Nathaniel Scipio Seabrook was born November 27, 1935 in Charleston, South Carolina. He was the fifth of the seven children born to Benjamin and Jeretta (Robinson) Seabrook. He grew up in Charleston where he graduated from high school. After high school he furthered his education attending Denmark College in Denmark, South Carolina and then transferred to the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.

On August 21, 1963 Nathaniel was united in marriage to Doryce Ruth Schmaal at Annunciation Catholic Church in Minneapolis. The couple made their home in Minneapolis on the Minnehaha Parkway. Nathaniel was employed at Aslesens and Honeywell in Minnesota. In 2004, Nathaniel and Doryce moved to their current home on Lake Amelia in Villard, Minnesota.

Nathaniel was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the Rotary, and Habitat for Humanity. He enjoyed golfing, volunteering, watching and coaching sports with his kids. He will be remembered for his deep faith, his love of the church, volunteering in his community and his love for his family. Nathaniel was blessed to have died peacefully at home on beautiful Lake Amelia with his loving wife by his side.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Doryce Seabrook of Villard; sons, Tobias Seabrook of Tampa, FL and Nathan Seabrook of Ramsey, MN; daughters: Toni (Larry) Forsland of Bloomington, MN, Jeretta Seabrook of Anoka, MN and Jewel (Steve) Dahl of Glenwood; 15 grandchildren; sister, Julie Young; brother, Freddie (Clara) Seabrook of Atlanta, GA; sister-in-law, Lounetta of Mount Pleasant, SC; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Nathaniel was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William, Albert and Samuel Seabrook and sister, Minnie Terry.
