JoAnn J. Day, age 84, of Glenwood and formerly of Villard, died Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Parkview Court in Glenwood, MN. JoAnn Janiece Catlin, the daughter of William R. and Viola (Lyne) Catlin was born on the old Catlin family farm in rural Miltonvale, Kansas on June 7, 1935. She grew up and attended school in Miltonvale. On February 12, 1956, JoAnn was united in marriage to Howard Williams in Salina, Kansas. They made their home in Michigan and were blessed with three children: Tim, Jeff and Kathy. JoAnn and Howard later divorced. JoAnn continued to reside in Michigan where she worked at Lapeer Hospital for a number of years. In 2008, she moved to rural Villard, Minnesota with her daughter and son-in-law. It was in Villard where she met Lowell “Duffy” Day. JoAnn and Duffy were united in marriage on October 25, 2011 at Villard United Methodist Church. They made their home near Villard for almost 4 years before Duffy died on July 28, 2014. JoAnn continued to reside in their home near Villard for a year, before she moved into the Ridgewood Villa in Glenwood. She was just transitioning into Parkview Court when she received the news of her failing health. She died under the care of hospice at Parkview Court on June 29, 2019.

JoAnn was an active member of Villard United Methodist Church when her health allowed. She enjoyed collecting tea pots, and tea cups, enjoyed gardening, loved peonies and was an excellent cook. JoAnn also enjoyed sewing, quilting, watching the Minnesota Twins and going to fish fries. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor, how fun she was on vacation and her homemade cinnamon rolls and fried chicken.

She is survived by her children: Tim (Laurie) Williams of Clifford, Michigan, Jeff Williams of Prairie City, Iowa, and Kathy (Lynell) Gayken of rural Alexandria, Minnesota; grandchildren: James (Erika) Williams, Sarah (Kevin) Bader and Sydney Williams; great-grandchildren: Gabby, Emerson, Maddox and Quinn; sister, Audrey Sharp of Wichita, KS; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents: husband, Duffy; sister, Zeldean Osborne, brother, Bill Catlin and an infant sister.
