Ronald G. Iverson age 70 of St. Francis, died Friday, August 18, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 23rd at Scandia Lutheran Church in rural Glenwood with Rev. Ronald Knutson officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the church cemetery.  Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home Glenwood.

Ronald Gary Iverson, the son of Ben and Bertha (Sande) Iverson was born December 18, 1946 in Glenwood.  He grew up in Gilchrist Township and graduated from Brooten High School. After high school, Ron entered the United States Army.  He served his country and was honorable discharged in 1972.

Ron was employed as a mechanic with Greyhound for seven years before working for Consolidated Freight Ways in Blaine, MN for 26 years.

 On August 24, 2002, Ron was united in marriage to Elsie (Myers) in Big Lake, MN. The couple made their home in St. Francis, Minnesota.  Ron enjoyed creating and fixing almost anything. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved hunting.  He especially loved spending time with his family.  Ron passed away August 18, 2017 at the Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.

He is survived by his wife, Elsie of St. Francis; son, Jason (Karen) Iverson; daughter, Christine (Tim) Schmeltzer; step-children, Becky Streich, Linda Dewolf, Ann Martinez, Jeffery Indykiewicz and Tracy Schnell; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Bonnie Fread and Pamela (John) Kelly; and brothers, Richard Iverson and Raymond Iverson.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Alphie Cain, Ethelwyn Mathiason and Rosemary Honey; and brothers, Herbert Erickson and Russel Iverson.
